Released in 1996, Hadrian’s Wall is the self-titled debut album by the Canadian Celtic band. Recorded at McGill University Recording Studios, the album introduced the energetic blend of Scottish, Irish and Canadian folk music that would become the band’s signature sound.

Featuring six musicians from Glengarry County and surrounding Eastern Ontario, the recording captures the band’s early live repertoire through spirited arrangements of traditional favourites, Canadian classics and regional tunes. From Donald Where’s Your Trousers? and The Irish Rover to Barrett’s Privateers and A Glengarry Foot Stomp, the album reflects the musical traditions that inspired Hadrian’s Wall during its formative years.

As the band’s first commercial recording, Hadrian’s Wall laid the foundation for a career spanning more than three decades of performances across Canada and the United States, including Highland Games, Celtic festivals, theatres and concert stages.
